What's Your Story?
The purpose of this warm up or activity is for students to be able to become more fluent in expressions and equations based in "real world" situations. Here are some options:
1. Give students an expression or equation.
2. Have them show what it means visually.
3. Have them create a word problem or scenario that would result in the creation of that equation.
Possible Stories:
1. Number Sentences
3. Graphing Stories
Other possible adaptions:
1. Have equation cards and "story cards." The story cards have images of themes that the story should revolve around (for example, the "Tell Me a Story" cards from eeboo.) Turn over one equation card and one story card. They need to create a story that fits the equation that relates to the picture.
